One bowl pasta Amatriciana

  • 1 onion, peeled and quartered
  • 150g speck (smoked pork), diced
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 800g can whole peeled tomatoes
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 small bunch parsley, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 small bunch basil, leaves picked, roughly torn
  • 400 ml water
  • 350g dried rigatoni or large tube pasta
  • Pinch flaked sea salt
  • 1/2 cup (40g) fresh grated parmesan cheese

Step 1

Insert the Mini bowl with Mini Multiblade and add onion and garlic. Press PULSE for 3 seconds. Scrape down sides and repeat until finely chopped.

Step 2

Insert the StirAssist into the bowl, add the diced bacon, onion, garlic and oil. Select STEW P7, and manually increase the cooking time of STEP 1 to 10 minutes. Press START to begin STEP 1.

Step 3

At the beep, add the peeled tomatoes, pepper, parsley, and basil and press START to begin STEP 2.

Step 4

At the end of STEP 2, add the water, pasta, and salt. Press START to begin STEP 3.

Step 5

Once cooked, add the cheese and press QUICK STIR to mix through evenly. Serve immediately.
